Mangaluru, Sep 3: The Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) commissioner has issued a strict directive to clear all unauthorised street vendors within the city limits.
The action comes in response to growing traffic congestion in public spaces. Unauthorised street vending on footpaths and other areas has been causing significant inconvenience to public safety and smooth vehicular movement. The civic body stated that it has received numerous complaints from citizens and various organisations regarding the issue.

The corporation has clarified that except for vendors who have already obtained official street vending identity cards and trade certificates from the MCC, all others engaging in unauthorised business must voluntarily vacate their spots.
If they fail to clear out on their own, the MCC warned that suitable legal action will be initiated to evict the unauthorised vendors as per the provisions of the Street Vendors Act.
