Sunil Lobo appointed member of MET’s Academic Advisory Board

Mumbai, Sep 3: Sunil Lobo, a native of Mangaluru, has been appointed as a member of the Academic Advisory Board of MET Institute of Post Graduate Diploma in Management (MET Institute of PGDM), one of the reputed educational institutions in the country, based in Mumbai. His appointment is for a three-year term, effective from the academic year 2026–27.

Sunil Lobo is the son of the late Hubert Lobo of Derebail, Mangaluru, and Celia Lobo (née Sequeira) of Beltangady. He is also the grandson of the late A L Sequeira, a well-known community leader. Currently serving as the head of Corporate Banking, India Division, at Doha Bank, Sunil brings extensive professional experience, administrative expertise and a strong background in social service. His experience is expected to make a valuable contribution to the Academic Advisory Board of MET.

With more than 25 years of professional experience in corporate and investment banking, wealth management and banking operations, Sunil Lobo has built a distinguished career in the banking sector. His long-standing professional experience and contributions towards institutional and community development have been taken into consideration in entrusting him with this responsibility. He is expected to contribute his expertise and guidance towards effective governance, academic advancement and institutional development.

Actively involved in social and community service, Sunil Lobo is serving as the president of the Canara Catholic Association (KCA), Bandra, where he has been providing leadership to various educational, medical, community and entrepreneurship initiatives.

He also served as the 42nd president of the Bombay YMCA during 2023-24 and has been associated with the organisation in various capacities since 2009. In addition, he has served as a trustee of several educational and social organisations and has held administrative responsibilities in institutions such as Willingdon Catholic Gymkhana, The Catholic Gymkhana Limited, Marine Drive, and Bandra Gymkhana.

His appointment to the Academic Advisory Board of MET is expected to further strengthen the institution’s academic, administrative and developmental initiatives through his extensive professional experience and community leadership.
