Acre, Sep 4: Two men in their 20s from Acre’s Old City have been arrested for allegedly attacking a bereaved father whose daughter was killed at the Nova music festival on October 7, 2023, Israel Police said on Thursday.

The incident occurred last week when the man was walking his dog in Acre’s Old City. During the walk, his dog encountered another dog belonging to the suspects, leading to a fight between the two animals.

According to police, the two suspects approached the scene and accused the man of deliberately attacking their dog. They allegedly assaulted him violently, leaving him injured.

Police launched an investigation immediately and identified the two suspects. Officers raided their homes on Thursday morning and arrested them.

The suspects were taken to Acre Police Station for questioning and were subsequently detained, police said.

A court later approved a police request to extend their detention until September 7 as the investigation continues.
