Bengaluru, Sep 5: Three people, including two women, have been arrested for allegedly kidnapping, stripping and assaulting a woman over the non-payment of loan interest. The arrested have been identified as Reshma Banu, Nazath and Suhail.
The victim had lodged a complaint at the Chandra Layout police station, alleging that the accused threatened to strip her, record a video and make it viral. The victim and Reshma were previously acquainted. The woman had borrowed Rs 1 lac from Reshma two years ago. Through Reshma, she was introduced to Nazath and had also borrowed Rs 50,000 from her.

The complainant said she had been paying Rs 5,000 every month in instalments to Nazath and paying interest to Reshma. However, due to financial problems, she had not paid interest for the past six months and instalments for two months. She had also blocked Reshma's number, alleging that she was repeatedly harassing her. She had subsequently vacated her house and moved to her mother's house.
At this juncture, the accused allegedly called her to Nazath's house on the pretext that there was some work for which she would be paid. Reshma and her husband Suhail then arrived at Nazath's house and allegedly assaulted the woman.
The accused allegedly attacked her with a knife, forced her into an auto-rickshaw and took her to a house near Kumbalagodu, where she was assaulted. They also allegedly stripped her, recorded a video and threatened to make it viral.
Meanwhile, the victim's mother had filed a missing person complaint at the Chandra Layout police station. Police rescued the woman and arrested the three accused after recording her complaint.
