Kasargod, Sep 5: A zipline adventure at the popular Ranipuram tourist destination turned fatal on Saturday evening when a 24-year-old operator fell while reportedly attempting to free a stuck cable and died.
The deceased has been identified as Sanoop Krishnan (24), a resident of Chamundikunnu. Sanoop had reportedly joined the Ranipuram tourism centre as a zipline operator only on Friday, just a day before the fatal accident.

According to preliminary information, a young woman was taking part in a zipline adventure at the tourist centre when the cable became stuck. Sanoop reportedly attempted to release the cable, but lost his balance and fell from the zipline.
He sustained critical injuries in the fall and was rushed to a nearby private hospital. However, he had reportedly succumbed to his injuries by the time he was brought there.
Sanoop’s body has been kept at the mortuary of Kanhangad District Hospital.
Rajapuram police reached the accident site, conducted an inspection and registered a case. An investigation is under way to establish the circumstances surrounding the fatal fall.
