Mangaluru: Srinivas University organises orientation programme 2026

Mangaluru, Sep 9: With the blessings of the founder chancellor, late Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao, and with the support and guidance of the honourable chancellor Dr A Srinivas Rao, Srinivas University Institute of Allied Health Sciences (SIAHS), Mukka, organised the orientation programme 2026 for PG and UG courses on September 9 at Mukka Campus.

The programme aimed to welcome the newly admitted students and familiarise them with the academic environment, curriculum, institutional facilities, rules and regulations, and the opportunities available in the field of allied health sciences.

The programme was presided over by Dr K Satyanarayana Reddy, vice-chancellor, Srinivas University. In his presidential address, he emphasised the importance of trust between healthcare professionals and patients. He noted that with rapid advancements in healthcare technology, students and professionals must combine technological expertise with compassion and responsibility. in building trust and contributing to the patient's progress and well-being.

The chief guest, Dr Jayashree Bolar, pro-registrar, Srinivas University, highlighted the changing landscape of allied health sciences education. She explained that a common syllabus is being followed across colleges of allied health sciences under the All-India Council of Allied Health Sciences, ensuring uniformity in academic standards and learning outcomes.

She further stated that students would benefit from technical support, modern learning resources and well-trained faculty, enabling them to acquire the knowledge and skills required for the evolving healthcare sector.

Dr Pavana Krishnamoorthy, dean, Institute of Allied Health Sciences, explained the rules, regulations and academic expectations of the institution to the newly admitted students.

She guided the students on maintaining discipline, academic commitment and professional ethics throughout their course of study.

Ashlesh D Alva and Dr Vijaya Chandramma Doddanagoudar were present on the dais. The programme commenced with the welcome address by Rashmi Shenoy. The proceedings were compered by Dr Swathi D and Shanwil Shaun D'Souza. The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr Chaitra C K.
