Mangaluru, Sep 10: St Mary’s High School, Falnir, celebrated Girl Child Day on September 9, with enthusiasm, focusing on the importance of educating, empowering and protecting girl children.
The programme began with a prayer service, followed by a welcome address. Students presented speeches, songs and cultural programmes highlighting the value of girls and their contribution to families and society.
Various activities were also conducted to create awareness about the rights, education, health and safety of girl children.

Headmistress Sr Ruby D’Souza addressed the gathering and encouraged students to respect and support girls in all spheres of life. She stressed the importance of providing equal opportunities to girls in building a better future.
Class teacher teacher Shalet guided and coordinated the students in the various activities organised as part of the celebration.
Teachers and students actively participated in the programme, making the occasion meaningful and inspiring. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks.
