Ahilyanagar, Sep 10: An accused who was released on bail after serving time in jail in a gutkha sale case has landed in trouble again after celebrating his release with fireworks outside the prison and posting a video of the celebration on social media.

The accused, identified as Saddam Hussain Pathan, allegedly projected a "bhai-giri" image through the video. The Bhingar Camp police took note of the viral video and arrested him, registering a case against him.

Pathan had earlier faced action for allegedly selling gutkha and was sentenced in the case at the Ahilyanagar prison. After being granted bail, he was released from the prison.

However, as soon as he came out, his supporters began bursting firecrackers and celebrating his release. Pathan also recorded a video of the celebrations and circulated it on social media.

Police noticed that the video showed fireworks, celebrations and what appeared to be a display glorifying criminal behaviour after the accused walked out of prison. The video was subsequently widely circulated on social media.

After the video reached the Bhingar Camp police, the matter was taken seriously. Police Inspector Tejashree Thorat and her team gathered information about the video and launched a search for Pathan.

The police detained Pathan without delay, registered a case against him and initiated further legal proceedings.

The action highlights the police's focus on social media content that allegedly glorifies criminal activities or attempts to create an impression of intimidation and challenge police action.

After police action, Pathan admitted that he had made a mistake. He appealed to others not to burst fireworks and celebrate in such a manner after being released from jail, make videos portraying "bhai-giri" or circulate such content on social media.

The Bhingar Camp police warned that strict action would be taken against those who circulate videos on social media that glorify crime, create fear or challenge law and order.

The incident has sparked discussion in the city after the accused, who had celebrated his release with fireworks and posted a video online, was taken to the police station following the viral clip.
