Kasargod: 15-year-old student ends life by hanging in Bekal

A 15-year-old student was found dead, hanging inside his residence at Keekana under the Bekal police station limits.

The deceased has been identified as Dhyanraj, a 10th-standard student at a school in Kasargod. He is the son of Rajesh Kumar, an employee at the Mangaluru deputy commissioner's office, and Nireeksha, a teacher at Manya Kalbatta school. The family resides at Keekana, Pallikere in Bekal.

It is suspected that the young boy took the extreme step after being disheartened over scoring low marks in his recent examinations.

The Bekal police have registered a case of unnatural death and are currently investigating the matter.
