Udupi: Fisherman falls overboard while hauling net, dies at sea

Udupi, Sept 13: A fisherman died after accidentally slipping and falling into the sea while hauling in a fishing net from a boat, it was reported. The deceased has been identified as Ashoka, 42, from Koppal district.

Ashoka had set out on a fishing trip on September 8 aboard the Jai Ganesh, a boat owned by Prakash. While the boat was out at sea, Ashoka was pulling in the fishing net when he accidentally lost his footing and fell into the water. He went missing following the incident.

His body was recovered on the morning of September 11.

A case has been registered at the Malpe Police Station in connection with the incident.
