Mangaluru: Ullal BLO achieves 100% sir accuracy without issuing notices

Mangaluru, Sep 14: A booth in the Mangaluru Assembly constituency (Ullal) of Dakshina Kannada district has reportedly achieved the distinction of successfully completing the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls without issuing a single notice, a first-of-its-kind achievement in the state.

The achievement was recorded at Booth No. 7 of Senerebailu-1 in Ward No. 3 of Ullal City Municipality. The booth recorded zero mapping and zero logical discrepancies. No notices were issued to any voter, and no names were deleted from the electoral roll.

BLO Amrutha Rahul Karkera, an anganwadi teacher near Ullal Kodi Mosque, played a key role in resolving the confusion surrounding the SIR process. She visited voters door-to-door and provided proper guidance regarding the required information, filling out forms and submitting documents, enabling the booth to achieve 100% accuracy.

There were a total of 1,447 voters at the Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat Higher Primary School booth. As the number of voters exceeded 1,000, the booth was divided, with 514 voters assigned to Booth No. 6 and 782 voters covered under Booth No. 7 for the revision of the electoral roll.

Through a door-to-door survey, voters who had died or shifted to other places were identified, enabling the electoral roll to be systematically corrected and updated in stages.
