Mumbai, Sep 14: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) and its founder Abhijeet Dipke will join the ongoing protests by Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) aspirants over alleged paper leaks and irregularities in online examinations, the party said on Sunday.

The CJP has also set September 24 as the deadline for its demand seeking the resignation of the MPSC chairman and secretary.

The announcement came after a meeting between a group of MPSC aspirants and Dipke at his residence in the Waluj area of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.

The CJP said the agitation demanding the resignation of the MPSC chairman and secretary would continue. If the two officials do not step down by September 24, Dipke and party members will undertake a statewide tour to meet MPSC aspirants and raise their concerns, the party said in a release.

Dipke and other CJP members will also participate in the ongoing protests by MPSC aspirants, it said.

After meeting the aspirants, Dipke said in a video message, "The CJP and I are with MPSC aspirants in this fight. We will stand with the aspirants till the resignations (of top MPSC officials)."

MPSC aspirants have held protests at several locations across Maharashtra, demanding greater transparency in the recruitment process and action over alleged paper leaks and other irregularities in examinations conducted by the commission.

The protests have focused on demands for accountability and transparency in the conduct of MPSC examinations.
