Viral claim: Bihar parents disguise as beggars, travel across states to find missing sons

New Delhi, Sep 14: An extraordinary story of parental determination is currently making waves on social media, with a viral post on X claiming that a couple from Bihar disguised themselves as beggars and travelled across multiple states for months to track down their two missing sons.

According to the widely shared account, the family had relocated to Mundra in Gujarat for work and was residing there with their children, 14-year-old Rahul and 11-year-old Arpit. The boys reportedly went out to play on January 15 and vanished without a trace. After initial searches in their neighbourhood, reaching out to relatives, and filing police complaints yielded no results, the desperate parents began to suspect the involvement of a trafficking or beggar gang.

Three months into their search, the couple allegedly took a drastic step. The post claims they quit their jobs and adopted the disguise of beggars to discreetly navigate the streets and gather clues without drawing suspicion. Their undercover search reportedly took them on a gruelling journey across several states, including Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh.

The months-long pursuit finally yielded a breakthrough when the couple received a tip-off linking their elder son, Rahul, to a beggar gang operating in Rajasthan. Following the lead to Bikaner, the parents successfully located and rescued him.

The search for their younger son, Arpit, continued for another 15 days until a fresh lead directed them to Howrah in West Bengal. Travelling to the new location, the couple reportedly managed to find Arpit, finally bringing the entire family back together.

While the gripping account of the parents giving up their normal lives and travelling undercover has captivated the internet, the claims—including the exact circumstances of the disappearance, the involvement of a beggar gang, and the specifics of the rescue—have not yet been independently verified by authorities.
