Mangaluru Cabinet gridlock alert: Major police traffic overhaul for VIP visit from Sep 17-19

Media Release

Mangaluru, Sep 16: Motorists and daily commuters take note! Expect heavy vehicular disruption and strict route overhauls as the Mangaluru City police have rolled out an extensive traffic advisory ahead of the high-profile State Cabinet meeting slated for Friday, September 18, at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office (Prajasoudha) in Padil.

According to the official itinerary, the chief minister, deputy chief minister and cabinet-rank ministers will touch down on the evening of September 17.

Following the high-stakes cabinet deliberations at Prajasoudha on September 18, the delegation will hop across to Udupi via the Maryhill helipad by afternoon, before looping back to Mangaluru for an overnight stay and a final morning departure on September 19.

Anticipating massive traffic pile-ups across key thoroughfares, law enforcement has urged citizens to map out alternative routes and extend full cooperation to ensure unimpeded security and smooth transit.

  • Badriya Junction to Hamilton Junction: Vehicles proceeding past Hotel Taj Vivanta towards Hamilton Junction must detour via Badriya Junction, Nileshwar Road, and Rosario Road.

  • Hamilton Junction to Badriya Junction: Vehicles moving in the opposite direction must reroute via Hamilton Junction and Nellikai Road.
