Beijing, Mar 29 (IANS): A Chinese official has been punished for using an official car to take his family on a picnic trip.

The deputy director of Luoning County Environmental Protection Bureau in Hunan province was accused of using the car for personal convenience, the People's Daily reported Thursday.

The bureau issued an administrative warning to Du for violating government regulations.
