Udupi, Sep 16: The valedictory ceremony of Vanasuma Jaycee Week, jointly organized by JCI Udupi City, Vanasuma Trust and Vanasuma Vedike, was held at Muddanna Mantapa, MGM College, Udupi, on September 15.

Former Udupi MLA Raghupathi Bhat, who delivered the valedictory address, said organizations like JCI provide young people with opportunities to actively engage in socially relevant activities.

The chief guest, Poornima, assistant director of the department of Kannada and Culture, Udupi district, presented the Vanasuma Ranga Samman and Vanasuma Ranga Puraskar. She appreciated the continued commitment of Vanasuma Vedike and Vanasuma Trust towards theatre and cultural activities.

Dr Vijayendra Vasanth of Denta Care and Jayakumar Poojary of Empyria Entertainment were present as guests and extended their best wishes.

Former presidents of JCI Udupi City and senior members of Vanasuma Vedike were also present.

The programme was presided over by JCI Udupi City president Pallavi Kodagu. Jaycee Week director and Vanasuma Trust president Basuma Kodagu delivered the welcome address and introductory remarks. Vanasuma Vedike president Vinay Acharya Mundkur conducted the Ranga Samman and Ranga Puraskar presentation. Unit secretary Samia Hegde proposed the vote of thanks.

The week-long Vanasuma Jaycee Week was held from September 9 to 15 with various programmes and activities.
