Corrupt Chinese Official Sacked


Beijing, Mar 29 (IANS): A Chinese official has been sacked from his post and the Communist party after being accused of corruption.

Shanghai Daily Thursday identified him as Hu Jun, a former deputy director of Shanghai's land resources planning bureau.

Authorities said Hu suffered the punishment for "serious violation of discipline". This included "taking bribes in return for illegal favors".
