St Aloysius University faculty member Mohammed Siraj B awarded PhD

Mangaluru, Sep 17: Mohammed Siraj B, assistant professor Stage III, department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, School of Engineering, and chairperson of the Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) at St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru, has been awarded the PhD degree in computer science and engineering for his thesis titled “Parallel deep convolutional neural network based mining of agricultural data for quality judgement and identification of defects in plants” from Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi.

He carried out his doctoral research under the guidance of Dr Zahid Ahmed Ansari, professor, department of computer science & engineering, P A College of Engineering, Mangaluru (affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi).

He was also the recipient of the prestigious Maulana Azad National Fellowship (MANF - UGC) and completed his research tenure as both Junior and Senior Research Fellow (JRF & SRF).

He is the proud son of Ahammed Haji and Aysha Hajjumma and husband of Kadeejath Nasreena.
