Udupi, Sep 17: Shreesha K S Acharya, a first-year B E student of the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) department at Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology & Management (SMVITM), Bantakal, has brought laurels to the institution by securing the gold medal in the VTU state-level karate (men’s) championship.

The championship was held at R V College of Architecture, Bengaluru, on September 11 and 12. Shreesha emerged victorious in the 60 kg weight category, demonstrating excellent skill, determination and sporting spirit. With this outstanding performance, he has been selected to represent the VTU Karate Team at the upcoming South Zone (national-level) event.

The principal, faculty members and students of SMVITM have congratulated Shreesha K S Acharya on his remarkable achievement and wished him success in the upcoming south zone championship. The institution congratulated him on his accomplishment and his achievement as a representative of SMVITM at the national-level sporting arena.
