Mumbai, Sep 18: Spirituality nurtured within the home can pave the way for a disciplined and value-based life, said Sri Sugunendra Theertha Swamiji, seer of Sri Puthige Matha, Udupi.

He was speaking during the annual Ganapathi festival held at the residence of prominent businessman B R Shetty at Kalpataru Pinnacle in Goregaon, Mumbai. The seer offered prayers and performed aarti to the consecrated Lord Ganapathi idol during the celebrations.

“Transforming a part of our home into a temple nurtures devotion in our hearts. A household rooted in sincere devotion can lead to a cultured and peaceful family life. When spirituality becomes part of our homes and minds, pure devotion brings us closer to the divine protection of Lord Krishna. Therefore, when homes and hearts become temples, life becomes more meaningful and prosperous,” Sri Sugunendra Theertha Swamiji said.

He added that devotion helps keep negative forces away and paves the way for a peaceful and prosperous life, pointing to the B R Shetty family as an example of a household rooted in spiritual values.

B R Shetty and his wife Chanchala R Shetty welcomed the seer to their residence with traditional honours accompanied by Chende music. Following his spiritual address, the seer blessed B R Shetty, Chanchala R Shetty, Harshitha R Shetty, Dr Chiranjeev R Shetty and other family members by offering mantrakshathe.

The presence of the Puthige seer added spiritual significance to the annual Ganapathi celebrations. Priests Ratheesh Thantri, Narayana Acharya and Prakash Acharya Ramakunja, CA Sudheer R L Shetty, V Rajesh Rao of the Adamaru Matha Mumbai branch, B M Shetty and Venkatesh Shetty of Valakadu, Anoop Shetty and Ashok Pakkala Permankiguttu were among those who attended the programme and extended their greetings.
