Mangaluru, Sep 18: The National Hindi Day was held in Govt First Grade College, Kavoor, in order to uphold the immense pride and zeal to honour the cultural richness and historical importance of the Hindi language.

The principal of the college Dr Geetha M L was presided over the programme and highlighted the importance of Hindi as a language that connects people across different regions of India and strengthens a sense of national unity. She emphasized that learning and promoting Hindi helps one appreciate India's rich cultural and linguistic diversity while fostering better communication and understanding.

The convenor of the programme Nithin Kumar KV, HOD of Hindi department spoke about the significance of Hindi as a language of communication, culture and national integration. He encouraged the students to learn, use and appreciate Hindi while recognizing the richness of India's multilingual heritage.

Dr Therese Pereira, IQAC coordinator and Dr. Santhosh Pinto, coordinator, student welfare officer, Dr Ashwin Loyal Mendonca, coordinator of Language departments, Krishnamurthy N B, coordinator of fine arts, Mamatha U, HOD of political science dept, Jyothi S, assistant professor of commerce and management dept were present on the stage.

As a part of this programme different cultural competitions were conducted to the students and prizes were awarded. On this occasion Hindi language based cultural programme were given by the students.

Mokshitha I BBA compered the programme. Gowthami, I BBA welcomed the guests. Ashmitha I BBA read out the list of prize winners. Nithin Kumar KV, HOD of Hindi proposed vote of thanks.
