Mangaluru, Sep 19: Carmel Central School, Kotekar, organised an enriching student orientation programme on the theme “Prepare • Focus • Grow • Excel" on September 18. The event aimed to inspire students toward personal growth, responsible behaviour, and academic excellence, creating a dynamic atmosphere of learning and enthusiasm across the school.
The resource persons Fr Richard Fernandes, C Ss R, Fr Rohan Dias, C Ss R, Fr Nishith Lobo, C Ss R, and Fr Dony Cardoza, C Ss R were florally welcomed and captivated the audience with their deep insights and dynamic approach. The auspicious occasion was also graced by the esteemed presence of principal Sr Pramila D Souza AC, administrator Sr Julie Ann AC, and vice principal Sr Anita D'Souza AC during the inauguration.

The programme commenced on a reverent note with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolising the pursuit of truth, wisdom, and enlightened learning. The initial session opened with a reflective Shloka highlighting the foundational qualities of a true student focusing on discipline, respect, mental concentration, and exemplary conduct. Student participation was remarkably high throughout the interactive segment, fostering a lively environment.
Students enthusiastically engaged in self-reflection through thought-provoking discussions centered on the question, “What makes you happy in life?” The screening of an inspiring video presentation, “How to be consistent to become successful?”, further reinforced the significance of unwavering dedication, regular study habits, and purposeful goal-setting.
Parallelly, a deeply enriching, faith-focused session was organized for Catholic students centered on the theme "See Yourself Through God's Eyes." This interactive segment encouraged students to realise their innate self-worth, dignity, and purpose, culminating meaningfully with the Eucharistic celebration.
Overall, the orientation programme proved to be an extraordinarily engaging, fruitful, and memorable experience. It left an indelible impression on the minds of the students, inspiring them to embrace discipline, nurture positive habits, and stride forward with confidence and responsibility.
