Former minister Ramanath Rai injured as car collides with bus on Karkala–Moodbidri Highway

Karkala, Sept 20: A serious road accident was reported on the Karkala–Moodbidri highway, leaving former minister and senior Congress leader Ramanath Rai, Savitha and several others injured.

The accident occurred at Sanuru Junction, where a bus travelling from Karkala towards Moodbidri collided with the car in which former minister Ramanath Rai was travelling.

Local residents reportedly rushed to the spot and rescued Ramanath Rai from the car before taking him to a hospital. Several passengers travelling in both the bus and the car also sustained injuries.

Local residents assisted in rescuing the injured and transporting them to hospital for treatment.
