Bengaluru, Sep 21: Following the grand success of its main festival in May and a well-received requested re-screening in July at IIWC, Bengaluru, Gubbivani Trust’s exclusive competition of Kannada short films by women directors ‘Avala Hejje 2026’ is gearing up for another significant re-screening on September 24, at Karnataka State Akkamahadevi Women University (KSAWUV), Vijayapura.
More than just a film festival, Avala Hejje is a cultural movement dedicated to women empowerment — ensuring women are behind the camera to authentically portray their own stories beyond mere glamour.
Beyond film screenings, the Trust actively engages college students through specialised workshops and internship opportunities designed to foster learning and professional growth.
