Mangaluru, Sep 21: The School of Information Science & Technology organized the inaugural ceremony of the first batch of the MSc Data Science programme, offered in collaboration with Leeds Beckett University, UK, on September 21 at the AIMIT Centre.

The ceremony marked the beginning of a new academic journey for the students and was attended by distinguished dignitaries, including Dr Kiran Cotha SJ, director; Suchetha Vijay, dean, School of Information Science & Technology; Prashanth, COO, Jubeerich Consultancy Pvt Ltd; and Dr Rakesh Kumar B, head of the department of MSc data science.

The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries, followed by the welcome address by Dr Rakesh Kumar B. Dr Kiran Cotha SJ delivered the presidential address, sharing his guidance and best wishes with the students and emphasizing academic excellence, research, innovation, and continuous learning.

The ceremony also featured an online interaction with Dr Shaila Shivdas, international development manager – South Asia, international recruitment and partnerships, Leeds Beckett University. She interacted with the students and shared insights into the international collaboration, the programme, and the academic opportunities ahead.

Prashanth, COO, Jubeerich Consultancy Pvt Ltd, subsequently introduced the MSc Data Science programme and highlighted its structure, objectives, and academic and career opportunities.

The programme concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Manasvi Shetty. The ceremony marked a significant beginning for the first batch, paving the way for an enriching academic journey with international exposure and professional opportunities.
