Udupi, Sep 21: The inauguration of Student Council for the academic year 2026–27 was held at Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM).
The programme was presided over by Dr Radhakrishna S Aithal, CEO, in the presence of Dr Nagaraj Bhat, principal, and Dr Deepika B V, Student Welfare officer. The programme began with an invocation by Anusha, CSE, followed by the welcome address by Chirag S Poojary, general secretary of Student Council.
The highlight of the event was the badging and oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected student council members. Dr Nagaraj Bhat and Dr Radhakrishna S Aithal badged the members, while Dr Deepika B V administered the oath.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Nagaraj Bhat encouraged the newly elected council to undertake meaningful initiatives that benefit the institution and society. He also highlighted the institute’s new student election portal, “DWANI,” developed by students Abhishek Kini, Tejas Nayak and Bhushan Poojary under his guidance.
Dr Radhakrishna S Aithal emphasized commitment, responsibility and a sense of belonging towards the institution.
The programme also included appreciation of the media team “Utkarsh” Website Team and Student Council 2025–26 for their contributions.
