Udupi, Sep 22: The carcass of a leopard was found trapped between two trees in a forest near Panjimaru-Falke along the Katapady-Shirva main road on the morning of Tuesday September 22.
The leopard is suspected to have died four to five days ago, and its carcass was found in a decomposed state.
After noticing a foul smell in the area, K R Patkar, president of the Bantakal Citizens’ Committee, alerted the forest department.
Forest department officials arrived at the spot following the information.
