Udupi, Sep 22: Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM), Bantakal, organized an orientation programme for the newly joined BE students at the institute on September 20.

The programme was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by P Srinivas Tantry, vice president of Sri Sode Vadiraja Mutt Education Trust, in the presence of the chief guest, Dr Prasad B Rampure, registrar, VTU, Belagavi and guest of honor Purushotham S, Global Technology head, TCS, Bengaluru.

Dr Prasad B Rampure advised students to attend college regularly, focus on understanding concepts, work with discipline and teamwork, and strive for success through hard work, while encouraging parents to support their wards without comparison. He also highlighted the VTU Skill Lab initiative introduced for first-year students.

Purushotham S shared his engineering journey and product development experience, emphasizing the importance of domain expertise, teamwork, and continuous learning, and motivated students to dream big and strive for success.

Rathnakumar, secretary, Shri Sode Vadiraja Mutt Education Trust, expressed gratitude to the parents and students for their trust and assured them of the institution’s commitment to providing quality education.

Dr Radhakrishna S Aithal, CEO, Sode Group of Institutions, highlighted the institute’s growth roadmap and assured parents of continued support for the students’ overall development, career building, and character building.

The principal Dr Nagaraj Bhat, welcomed the gathering and highlighted the major accomplishments of the institution.

Dr Sudarshan Rao, dean (academics), elaborated on the academic rules and regulations, highlighting the key guidelines and expectations to be followed by the students.

Three students who joined the institution with top 3 ranks in CET examination were felicitated and few parents shared their expectations on this occasion.

Dr Sudhaker Nayak, member of academic council and former registrar of VTU, Dr Sachin Bhat, dean-research, Dr Lolita Priya Castelino, HOD of BSH, Dr Deepika B V, SWO, Dr Soumya Bhat, COE were present on the dais.

Dr Ravindra H J, professor, department of BSH introduced the chief guest & Dr Subbulakshmi N Karanth, associate professor, department of BSH introduced the guest of honour.

Dr Lolita Priya Castelino, HOD of basic science and humanities proposed the vote of thanks. The Program started with an invocation by Sharanya Tantry. Faculty members of the institution, Reshma Nayak and Ananth Mohan Malya compered the programme.
