Bantwal, Sep 22: A grand public felicitation and a massive 'Tiranga' vehicle rally have been organised in Peruvai on Sunday, September 27, to honour proud soldier Chandrashekara Poojary Kalladka, who recently retired after 23 years of dedicated service in the Indian Army.
Organised under the auspices of the Peruvai public felicitation committee, the event will celebrate the braveheart who served in the armed forces from 2003 to 2026 and recently retired after being promoted to the rank of ACP naib subedar.
A massive Tiranga vehicle rally in honour of the soldier will commence from near the Muchirapadav church. The procession will pass through the Peruvai gram panchayat premises before culminating at the Karavali ground near Peruvai junction.
The formal stage programme and felicitation ceremony will take place at the Karavali ground at 6 pm. Rajendranath Rai of Peruvai Guthu will preside over the programme.
The event will witness the participation of religious leaders from various faiths. Sri Sri Krishna Guruji of Kukkaje-Manila Sri Kalikamba Anjaneya Kshetra, Peruvai Badriya Juma Masjid dharmaguru Muhammad Sharif Madani, Peruvai Our Lady of Fatima Church parish priest Fr Simon D'Souza, and Peruvai Muhyiddin Juma Masjid dharmaguru Jaffer Sadiq Baqavi Al Yamani will be present as chief guests.
Progressive farmer Krishnaprasad Kadambila, Koragappa Poojary of Balekallu Sri Brahma Baidarkala Garadi, Ramanna Poojary of Kalladka, and the soldier's mother, Sundari, will also participate in the event.
During his distinguished tenure, the soldier received commendation certificates from senior army officers on two occasions. The Peruvai public felicitation committee has appealed to the public to participate in large numbers and make the patriotic event a grand success. A public meal will be arranged at the end of the programme
