Udupi, Sep 23: A serial accident involving four cars took place near the Kallapu deviation at Katapady on National Highway 66 on Tuesday, September 22.
According to sources, a car travelling from Mangaluru towards Udupi suddenly applied its brakes near the Kallapu deviation. This abrupt halt caused the cars following closely behind to rear-end one another, resulting in a pile-up.
All the vehicles involved in the crash sustained damages.
Vehicular movement on the busy highway was disrupted for some time following the incident before the road was cleared for traffic.
