Udupi, Sep 23: A 35-year-old man from Shirva, who was working as an accountant at a company in Muscat, passed away due to a cardiac arrest on September 19.

The deceased has been identified as Jeevan Shekhar Poojary. Originally from Sasithota Enagudde in Katapady, he was currently residing at Mitrabettu in Shirva. He had been employed in Muscat for the past 10 years.

With the assistance of former Oman Billawas president Sujith Anchan Pangala, Jeevan's mortal remains were repatriated to Mangaluru by flight.

However, on the morning of September 22, the flight carrying his body was unable to land at the Mangaluru International Airport due to dense fog and was diverted to Bengaluru. The flight eventually returned and landed in Mangaluru around 11 am.

Jeevan's brother, Rishan, received the mortal remains at the airport and transported them to their residence in Mitrabettu. The final rites were later held at the Padavu Hindu crematorium.

Jeevan was unmarried and is survived by his parents, two sisters, and a brother.
