Mangaluru, Sep 23: The Institute of Aviation Studies, Srinivas University, organised the inauguration of the new gateway and achievements appreciation ceremony on September 21 at the aviation campus, to mark a new beginning and celebrate the remarkable achievements of the students.
The programme was presided over by Dr A Srinivas Rao, chancellor, Srinivas University and president, A Shama Rao Foundation. The event was graced by the guests of honour, A Vijayalakshmi R Rao, trustee member, Board of Governors, Srinivas University, and Prof Er A Mitra S Rao, trustee member, Board of Governors, Srinivas University, Mangaluru.
Dr A Srinivas Rao inaugurated the new gateway by cutting the ribbon, symbolising new opportunities, aspirations and the continued growth of the Institute. The programme commenced with a prayer, followed by the welcome of the dignitaries by Dr Pavithra Kumari, dean, Institute of Aviation Studies, delivered the welcome address highlighting the significance of the new gateway as a symbol of new opportunities, aspirations and the continued growth of the institute.
The programme then continued with ceremonial lighting of the lamp and floral welcome. The inauguration of the new gateway marked an important milestone for the Institute and reflected its vision towards achieving greater excellence in aviation education and student development.
The achievements appreciation ceremony recognised the outstanding accomplishments of students in academic, cultural and sporting events. The Institute of Aviation Studies emerged as the overall champions at AIKYAM 2026, organised by St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru, securing first place in fashion walk and second place in e-gaming.
The students also secured the overall runners-up position at AAROHAM 2026, organised by SDM College. Students were also felicitated for their accomplishments in athletics, the Taluk Level Dasara CM Cup 2026, the under-21 kabaddi tournament and other sporting competitions, along with their participation in the International Day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking programme.
The ceremony further acknowledged the valuable contributions of the NSS volunteers who actively supported the three-day Educational Symposia 2026 organised by Ramakrishna Mission, Mangaluru. The faculty members of the Institute were also recognised for their achievements at Guru Vandana 2026, where they secured first prize in folk dance group, second prize in filmy dance group and the overall runner-up position.
Dr A Srinivas Rao, chancellor, Srinivas University and president, A Shama Rao Foundation, delivered the presidential remarks and encouraged the students to continue striving for excellence and making meaningful contributions to the institution and society.
The programme concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Varshitha, expressing gratitude to the dignitaries, faculty members, students and all those who contributed to the successful conduct of the programme.
The event concluded with the national anthem, marking a memorable celebration of achievement, appreciation and a new beginning for the Institute of Aviation Studies.
