Goa, Sep 24: The IPL 2027 auction will be held in Goa in December, BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia announced on September 23.
Saikia said the auction was being brought back to India after being held at overseas venues in Saudi Arabia, Dubai and Abu Dhabi in recent seasons.
“This year, after hosting the IPL auction in three foreign locations – Saudi Arabia, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi – last year, we are going to host it in Goa in the month of December,” Saikia told sources.
The exact date of the auction is yet to be finalised, though it is likely to be held between December 14 and 16. Goa had previously hosted the IPL auction in 2009 ahead of the second season of the league.
Meanwhile, the venue for the upcoming multi-day clash between India A women and Australia A women has also been shifted from Dharamsala to Mohali.
The match, scheduled from September 29 to October 2, was originally set to be played at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala. It will now take place at the IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali.
Saikia said the venue was changed due to prolonged rainfall and unfavourable playing conditions in Dharamsala.
“We have recently shifted the upcoming T20 matches from Dharamshala to Mohali because the ongoing weather conditions in Dharamshala are not very conducive for cricket. A lot of rainfall has been taking place there,” he said.
He added that the decision was taken to ensure cricketing activities continue without disruption from the weather.
