Vasco, Sep 25: Goa’s tourism season is set to begin with the arrival of the first foreign charter flight of the season at Dabolim Airport on September 30, bringing around 180 tourists from Russia.

The Aeroflot charter flight will carry tourists from Russia, marking the beginning of the foreign charter season in the state. Tourism industry sources estimate that around 144 foreign charter flights could arrive at Dabolim Airport between October and March, bringing approximately 25,000 foreign tourists.

According to airport sources, around 25,920 tourists are expected to arrive at Dabolim during the season through charter flights. Aeroflot and Sket Airlines are expected to operate charter services during the season.

Aeroflot will operate flights from Moscow and Yekaterinburg in Russia. The airline is expected to operate four charter flights a week, with two flights scheduled on Wednesdays and two on Saturdays. These flights will carry tourists from Russia and Kazakhstan.

Sket Airlines will operate charter services from Kazakhstan to Dabolim. Its flights are expected to begin in October, with two charter flights scheduled every Tuesday and Friday. The airline is expected to operate 48 charter flights during the season.

Tourism industry stakeholders are preparing to welcome foreign visitors as Goa enters the new tourism season.
