Bengaluru, Sep 25: Business cards gave way to team jerseys as over 140 members of Kanara Entrepreneurs (KE), along with their families and friends, gathered for the inaugural KE SportsMania 2026 at the BCU base camp by Push Sports.
Organised by KE GenNow, the organisation’s dynamic youth wing, the full-day sports meet was designed to foster cross-industry collaboration, spirited teamwork, and enduring personal friendships well beyond the traditional boardroom and executive suite environments.
The event commenced around 8 am on a cloudy Sunday morning with a KE prayer led by GenNow member Betsy Francis, followed by an address by KE Bengaluru chapter president Pramod D’Souza, who highlighted the common skills required in both business and sports, particularly the importance of decision-making, to seize opportunities and cut losses at the right time.
He also welcomed the participating past presidents and thanked all the past boards for building a strong platform for members to network, share experiences and grow together. Past president Adrian D’Souza delivered a short keynote, encouraging KE’s youth members to take the platform forward while wishing all participants the very best for the games.
Six competing franchises : Kanara Challengers Bangalore (KCB), The Bumblebees, The Red Brigade, The Black Storm, Coastal Crew and KE 6E clashed in a series of intense yet cordial athletic fixtures throughout the day.
The champions KCB ultimately hoisted the inaugural tournament trophy following a thrilling final match, closely contested by an equally spirited Bumblebees as runner-up squad. Transitioning from the pitch to evening festivities, the day culminated in celebrations, fellowship, and music, uniting entrepreneurs and industry leaders across sectors.
Beyond the games, the gathering underscored KE’s emphasis on fellowship, drawing entrepreneurs and executives across various sectors and cities to celebrate mutual achievements. The day concluded with an evening of music, dancing, and celebrations.
Managed by the KE GenNow team led by Dr. Bryan D Menezes, alongside Petson Gonsalves and Elton D’Souza, the event was mentored by KE lead member Laveena D’Souza and backed by KE president Pramod D’Souza and his executive board. Buoyed by its debut success, Kanara Entrepreneurs plans to make SportsMania an annual fixture promoting wellness, leadership, and community.
