Mangaluru, Sep 26: St Agnes College (Autonomous), hosted The bridge to industry: Five-day intensive placement training programme, conducted by the Magic Bus Foundation, for the second-year MBA and MCA students from September 21 to 25 at Seminar Hall 2, Mother Mary Aloysia Centenary Block.
The programme was organised in coordination with Deeksha, placement officer; Dr Mallika Shetty, placement coordinator, MBA; and Akshatha, placement coordinator, MCA, with the objective of preparing students for placements and equipping them with the skills and competencies required to transition confidently into the professional world.
The five-day programme offered students a comprehensive learning experience covering soft skills, communication, aptitude, self-appraisal, logical reasoning, artificial intelligence and machine learning, resume building, ATS optimisation, interview preparation, cybersecurity, and workplace skills. The sessions were facilitated by experienced trainers from the Magic Bus Foundation, including Jebin Israel, Joshua Daniel, and other resource persons.
The training was designed around an interactive and experiential learning approach. Students actively participated in self-introduction exercises, group activities, aptitude practice, video-based learning, team-building activities, the ‘Dress the Boss’ activity, the ‘If-Then’ logic game, online aptitude assessments, resume-building workshops, and mock interviews. These activities helped students strengthen their communication, teamwork, problem-solving, logical thinking, confidence, and professional skills.
The final day brought together resume and interview preparation, cybersecurity awareness, mock interviews, and other administrative activities. The programme concluded with a valedictory ceremony, during which students shared their feedback and reflections on the training. Certificates were distributed to the participants, while tokens of gratitude were presented to the trainers for their valuable contribution. The ceremony concluded with an inspiring address and a commemorative group photograph.
The five-day programme served as a meaningful bridge between academic learning and industry expectations, giving students practical exposure to the placement process and greater confidence in preparing for their professional journey.
The programme was successfully conducted with the guidance and support of the principal, Sr Dr M Venissa AC; PG coordinator, Sr Dr M Vinora AC; and the faculty members of the MBA and MCA departments.
