Coimbatore, Sep 26: Police in Tamil Nadu’s Valparai have registered a case against TVK leaders, including the city secretary, and nearly 20 others under the Doctors Protection Act for allegedly threatening government doctors at a hospital.

The incident occurred after a five-year-old boy, who sustained injuries in a leopard attack, was brought to the government hospital for emergency treatment.

According to reports, a group entered the hospital premises and questioned the medical staff while the boy was being treated. The group allegedly created a ruckus and obstructed hospital staff from providing the required medical care.

Hospital authorities alerted the police following the incident, leading to the registration of an FIR against the individuals involved.

Police have booked the TVK leaders and others under provisions of the Doctors Protection Act and are investigating the incident.
