Kadaba, Sep 28: An SUV involved in a hit-and-run accident that claimed the life of a motorcyclist here on Friday night was traced and seized by the Kadaba police.
The vehicle had allegedly hit a motorcycle from behind at Alankaru town and fled the scene. Following information that the vehicle had escaped towards Uppinangady, local youths in the Alankaru area alerted people in Athoor, Ramakunja, Koila, Uppinangady, Nelyady and other areas and kept a lookout for the vehicle.

CCTV footage from a house in Nadugudde showed the vehicle travelling towards Nadugudde. A subsequent search led to the vehicle being found in the yard of a house.
Tension prevailed after the vehicle was found. Kadaba police immediately reached the spot, brought the situation under control and seized the vehicle.
The vehicle reportedly belongs to a local hotel entrepreneur, and it is said that his brother was driving it when the accident occurred.
The accident occurred when Lokesh (42), a resident of Nadthila in Alankaru village, was travelling on his motorcycle towards Acharikottaya in Alankaru town. The SUV allegedly hit his motorcycle from behind, causing him to fall onto the road and suffer serious injuries to his head and limbs.
He was immediately shifted to a hospital but died late at night after failing to respond to treatment.
District superintendent of police Arun Kumar, additional SP Bhoomareddy, DySP Rohini, Rural police inspector Nagaraj and Kadaba SI Jambooraj Mahajan visited the spot and conducted an inspection.
Lokesh is survived by his wife, son and daughter.
