Mangaluru, Sep 29: The primary section of St Theresa’s School, Bendur, Mangaluru, celebrated Patron’s Day with faith, joy and enthusiasm through a special assembly held at the R F C Mascarenhas Auditorium on September 28. The programme was hosted by the cheerful students of grade 1, who presented a colourful and meaningful tribute to St Theresa, the patron of the institution.

The celebration began with a prayer and prayer song, seeking God’s blessings for the gathering. A graceful welcome dance by the young performers added warmth and joy to the occasion.

The students then presented a glimpse into the life of St Theresa, highlighting her love for God, humility, kindness and spirit of service. The highlight of the programme was a lively skit depicting important moments from her life. Through narration, acting and dance, the little ones brought the story of St Theresa to life and conveyed her message of love and simplicity.

The celebration was graced by Dr Ozmond Roshan D’Souza, assistant parish priest, St Sebastian Church, Bendur, as the chief guest. In his address, he encouraged the children to follow the values of St Theresa and to grow as loving, kind and responsible individuals.

Sr Lourdes BS, principal, appreciated the efforts of the young performers and their teachers. Sr Vidya BS, vice principal, and Sr Chrisette were also present on the occasion.

An entertaining dance performance added further excitement to the celebration and showcased the confidence and talents of the primary students. The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks.

The Patron’s Day celebration was a joyful and meaningful experience for the young learners, reminding them that even small acts of love, kindness and service can make a difference. The celebration ended with the beautiful spirit of St Theresa’s motto: 'Bloom forth in love for love'.
