Mangaluru, Sep 29: Dr Praveen N, a faculty member at the Nitte Institute of Professional Education here, has been awarded a PhD degree in Applied Sciences (MCA) by the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi.
He was conferred the degree during the university's 26th annual convocation held on September 26.
Dr Praveen completed his research on the topic 'Universal Character Representation based on Phonetic Transformation for Multilingual Text' under the guidance of Dr Shashidhar Kini K, professor at the Srinivas Institute of Technology, Valachil.
A native of Netharaguli in Bayar, he is the son of Vasu Devadiga and Bhavani. He has dedicated this achievement to his parents, wife Vidyashree, daughter Pradya Praveen, and all his well-wishers.
