Policeman Killed in Road Accident


New Delhi, Mar 31 (IANS): A 43-year-old Delhi Police head constable, returning home after duty, was killed after his motorbike was hit by a vehicle in east Delhi, police said Friday.

Head Constable Dinesh Pathak was hit by an unknown vehicle on the road stretch between Shahdra and Usmanpur after 11 p.m. Thursday, said a police officer.

He was taken to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him dead.

Pathak, posted at Harsh Vihar police station, was returning to his home in Mayur Vihar area.

"We have not been been able to identify the vehicle but the investigation is on," said the official.
