Kasargod, Mar 31:
BJP on Saturday March 31 called for a strike in Kasargod condemning the recent stone-pelting incident on BJP district office in Karandakkad and Morarji Bhavan in Thalipadpu. The strike is being observed in city municipal, Madhur and Mogral Puttur gram panchayath limits.

The procession by the BJP workers that marked the strike turned violent. The party workers shouted slogans and forcibly closed the shutters of shops and commercial complexes. Also, in some places stones-pelting on shops were reported. Police lobbed tear gas and resorted to lathi charge to control th mob. Many have been injured.

Private vehicles and buses have stopped plying following the violence. Assault cases also have been reported. In the morning BJP workers stopped buses and interrupted the transport service.

Window panes of a few offices have been damaged due to stone-pelting incidents.

The procession started from Karandakkad BJP office at 10.30 am and passed through new bus stand, old bus stand and traffic junction.

Police helplessly watched as the mob pelted stones. Students, elders and others suffered due to the sudden chaos in transportation.

If Kerala and West Bengal need investment from outside, the labour class and their political leader should change their attitude. There should be a total ban on public bundh, dharna and procession on the road and the public place. The Marxist Govt should adopt China ideology of development and innovation. Marxist should use their large labour class support for hard work, dedication and result oriented work.
These two states have lost opportunities many a time in the past and the state economy, development, growth etc have effected very badly. If not for the Gulf money these states would have been one of the most backward states of India.

This BJP is going CRAZY after loosing the elections. They will never ever win again with this kind of attitude. Also I feel agitated when I hear police attack lawyers, lawyers attack police and now police attack public. Where is law and order in this country.

In this kind of case the hard working people suffer the most. BJP or any other organizations will not come forward for the loss. From the pictures I know how the police acted. In one picture I could see a police man trying to grab some KHAKDI.

Those from Mangalore will not understand the political condition of Kasaragod and Kerala. BJP has been targeted by all the govts in Kerala in the past and supporters of BJP are taken to task for no reason in all the cases for no reason. Please live in Kasaragod and understand the conditions there before commenting on it as outsiders.

Thia clearly shows the hidden agenda of BJP. Are they peace makers of peace lovers??? Why to disturb public peace and law and order? Its upto the members of public to support the bundh or not. They cant force their ideologies on others....If one refuses to close his shop, BJP will throw stones and smash windows...Any party that organises bundh or picketing, must be held accountable to the damages on both public and private property... Peaceful march and peaceful protests are welcome and violence in any form is condemnable.
