Bantwal Catholic Sabha holds awareness workshop, felicitates 66 meritorious students

Bantwal, Oct 1: The Bantwal deanery Catholic Sabha organized an information workshop on the benefits available under the Karnataka Christian Development Corporation and a Pratibha Puraskar ceremony at Modankap, Bantwal on Sunday, September 27.

Fr Victor D’Souza, spiritual director of Catholic Sabha Bantwal deanery inaugurated the programme.

A total of 66 students from 12 parishes under the Bantwal deanery, who scored 90% and above in the SSLC and PUC examinations, were felicitated.

On the same occasion, Karnataka State Best Teacher Awardee Roshan Pinto, Loretto and Bantwal Taluk Best Teacher Awardee Helen Sequeira, Loretto were honoured.

Manjunath R, superintendent, department of minority welfare, Mangaluru, explained in detail the various schemes and facilities available through the Karnataka Christian Development Corporation.

Chief guest Prashanth Jattanna, director of the Karnataka Christian Development Corporation, called upon the community to make optimum use of the benefits provided by the Corporation.

Stany Lobo, former president of Catholic Sabha Central Committee, conveyed his best wishes.

Alphonse Fernandes, president of Catholic Sabha Bantwal deanery, presided over the programme, delivered the introductory address and welcomed the gathering. Members of the Agrar unit led the prayer. Secretary Veena D'Souza proposed the vote of thanks and Naveen Menezes, convener of Yuva Hitha, Bantwal deanery compered the programme.
