Mangaluru, Oct 2: The Mangaluru railway area, which was earlier under the Palakkad Division, began operating under the Mysuru Division from midnight on Wednesday. Mysuru Division ADRM Shammas Hameed reviewed the arrangements on Wednesday night and took necessary steps to ensure a smooth transition and uninterrupted train operations.

Along with other branch officers of the Mysuru Division, Shammas visited key railway centres in the Mangaluru area, including Mangaluru Central, Mangaluru Junction, Panambur and Jokatte, and inspected the operational arrangements and facilities there. The officials interacted with railway staff and reviewed the personnel, resources and other basic facilities required for the smooth functioning of train operations.

During the visit, special emphasis was given to effective coordination between various divisions, staff preparedness, train operations, safety arrangements, maintenance activities and passenger-related services. The concerned officials were instructed to address operational requirements promptly and maintain continuous coordination between field-level units and the divisional office.

The inclusion of the Mangaluru railway area under the Mysuru Division is a significant development from both administrative and operational perspectives.
