Mangaluru, Oct 2: A leopard was spotted near Maradka Ballana in the Kinnigoli Town Panchayat limits on Thursday October 1, sending a fresh wave of concern through the locality.

The animal was caught on a CCTV camera installed at the residence of Maradka Ballana resident Santosh Saldanha, with the footage showing the leopard walking past the gate of his house.

The CCTV visuals have confirmed that the leopard, which has been causing anxiety among residents, is still moving around the area.

The latest sighting comes less than a week after a leopard attacked a dog near Southern Estate at Jalligudde, also within the Kinnigoli Town Panchayat limits, last Friday.

The animal had not been spotted since the attack and had seemingly disappeared from the area. Its appearance at Maradka Ballana, located just a short distance from Jalligudde, has now raised fresh concern among residents.

With the leopard continuing to be sighted close to residential areas, locals remain apprehensive about its movements and are worried about the potential threat posed by the animal.
