Mangaluru, Oct 2: Asian Games gold medallist M R Poovamma received a grand welcome from well-wishers and supporters upon her arrival at Mangaluru International Airport on Friday October 2.
Poovamma was a member of India’s gold-winning women’s 4x400m relay team at the ongoing Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, alongside Kiran Pahal, Prachi Choudhary and Vithya Ramraj. The quartet clocked 3:29.69 to clinch the gold medal.
Poovamma also secured a silver medal in the mixed 4x400m relay alongside Manu T S, Vishal T K and Vithya Ramraj.











A prominent figure on the international athletics circuit, Poovamma has represented India in the women’s 4x400m relay at the 2008 Beijing, 2016 Rio and 2024 Paris Olympics.
