Nisshin, Oct 3: Abhishek Sharma's explosive 61 off 28 balls, Tilak Varma's unbeaten 51 off 22 and an all-round effort from Washington Sundar, Axar Patel and Shivam Dube helped India clinch back-to-back Asian Games gold medals in men's cricket with a thrilling 19-run victory over Pakistan in the final at Korogi Sports Park on Saturday.
India produced a brilliant finish after posting 211/6, with Abhishek setting the tone by smashing the fastest fifty by an Indian against Pakistan in T20Is before Tilak and Dube provided a late surge.

Pakistan, however, fought hard and were powered by a magnificent 96 off 51 balls from Hasan Nawaz. India's spinners and all-rounders held their nerve during a frantic finish, with Dube dismissing Nawaz off the final ball to bowl Pakistan out at 192/6 and trigger wild celebrations among the Indian players.
India began aggressively after skipper Shreyas Iyer won the toss and elected to bat.
The 15-year-old left-hander Vaibhav Sooryavanshi scored 15 off nine balls, including two sixes, before Saim Ayub dismissed him in the second over. Sanju Samson made four off six before Ahmed Daniyal had him caught at mid-on.
The early wickets did little to deter Abhishek, who was in devastating touch during the Powerplay. He reached his fifty off just 20 balls as India raced to 81/2 in the first six overs.
Pakistan's fielding also added to their frustration, with Saim Ayub dropping two catches in the same over while Daniyal missed a direct-hit opportunity to dismiss Abhishek.
Abhishek eventually holed out to Arafat Minhas for a spectacular 61 off 28 balls, including three fours and seven sixes, at a strike rate of 217.85.
Pakistan's attack had only a brief window to exert pressure before India began taking on their spin bowlers. Ishan Kishan made 20 off 18 balls, while Iyer contributed 21 off 24 before both fell under pressure.
India crossed 150 in 16.4 overs and had enough runs in the bank to launch a late assault.
Tilak and Dube combined superbly to add 62 runs for the sixth wicket. The pair attacked without respite, scoring 12 runs off Abrar Ahmed in the 17th over, 18 off Sufyan Moqim in the 18th and 23 off Saim Ayub in the 19th.
Daniyal struck with the first ball of the final over, dismissing Dube for 27 off 15 balls. Tilak, however, finished unbeaten on 51 off 22 balls, with three fours and four sixes at a strike rate of 231.81, while Axar Patel scored the final single to take India to 211/6.
Tilak reached his fifty off 21 balls, making it the second-fastest fifty by an Indian against Pakistan in the format, behind Abhishek's 20-ball effort earlier in the innings.
The 62-run partnership between Tilak and Dube was the second-highest for the sixth wicket or lower in a five-plus-team T20I tournament final. The record remains the unbeaten 68-run stand between Kumar Sangakkara and Angelo Mathews against Pakistan in the 2009 T20 World Cup final at Lord's.
India's 211/6 also became only the second instance of a full-member team scoring more than 200 in a five-plus-team T20I tournament final, after India posted 255/5 against New Zealand in the 2026 T20 World Cup final in Ahmedabad.
Abhishek's seven sixes against Pakistan also took him to second on India's list for most sixes in T20I finals, behind Sanju Samson's eight against New Zealand in Ahmedabad in 2026.
Tilak's four sixes took him level with Virat Kohli, Axar Patel and Ishan Kishan among India's leading six-hitters in T20I finals.
Pakistan began their chase steadily, but India's bowlers continued to strike at regular intervals.
Hasan Nawaz launched a breathtaking counterattack, smashing 96 off 51 balls to keep Pakistan in the contest. His assault appeared capable of turning the final around as Pakistan chased the imposing target.
However, India's all-rounders and spinners stood firm when the pressure mounted. Washington Sundar and Axar Patel controlled the middle overs and prevented Pakistan from building a decisive partnership.
Dube then produced the defining moment at the death, removing Nawaz with the final delivery of the match to seal India's 19-run victory and the gold medal.
Brief scores: India 211/6 in 20 overs (Abhishek Sharma 61, Tilak Varma 51 not out; Arafat Minhas 2-25, Ahmed Daniyal 2-43) beat Pakistan 192/6 in 20 overs (Hasan Nawaz 96, Saim Ayub 29; Washington Sundar 2-29, Axar Patel 2-29) by 19 runs.
