Amethi, Oct 6: A 15-year-old girl was allegedly raped at gunpoint inside her home by a 17-and-a-half-year-old boy in a village in Uttar Pradesh's Amethi district, police said on Tuesday.

According to the complaint filed by the girl's mother on October 5, the incident took place around 1.30 am on October 3.

The accused, who is from the same village, allegedly entered the girl's house and sexually assaulted her at gunpoint. When the girl's mother heard her cries and rushed to her room, the accused allegedly threatened to kill her if she disclosed the incident to anyone.

Ramganj Station House Officer Ram Raj Kushwaha said an FIR had been registered based on the mother's complaint and the girl had been sent for a medical examination.

Police teams have been deployed to trace and apprehend the accused, who has been absconding since the incident, the SHO said.

Further legal action is being taken, police added.
