Dabur expects double-digit growth in Q2 revenue, profit

Daijiworld Media Network - New Delhi

New Delhi, Oct 6: Consumer goods major Dabur India expects its consolidated revenue and profit after tax (PAT) to grow by double digits in the second quarter, driven by its India consumer goods business and strong growth in international markets.

Dabur, which makes products including Dabur Amla hair oil, said its India FMCG business is expected to accelerate to double-digit growth for the quarter ended September 30, marking its strongest performance in recent quarters.

The company said its margins were impacted by inflation in crude prices linked to the West Asia conflict, which pushed up plastic packaging costs. The impact, however, was partly offset by further price hikes and cost-saving initiatives.

Despite severe headwinds in West Asia, Dabur's international business is expected to register high-teen growth in Indian rupee terms.

Dabur expects its home and personal care business to post double-digit growth, with hair oils and shampoos likely to grow in the high teens, supported by demand for perfumed and coconut hair oils. The company said this would mark the fourth consecutive quarter of double-digit growth for the segment.

Meanwhile, peer Marico expects its consolidated revenue to grow in double digits in the second quarter, while Godrej Consumer Products expects consolidated revenue to rise in the high teens.
