Mangaluru, Oct 6: Eminent Konkani activist and president of the Konkani Bhas Ani Sanskrithi Prathishtan, World Konkani Centre, Mangaluru, CA Nandagopal Shenoy has been nominated president of the 34th All India Konkani Convention, to be organised by the All India Konkani Parishad in Pune, Maharashtra, on November 14 and 15.
Shenoy will take over the charge from Konkani activist Fr Mousinho de Ataide, who held the position for the past two years.
A chartered accountant by profession, Shenoy has been practising in the field of Indirect Taxes since 1989. He is known for his sustained contribution to the Konkani language, culture and community.

He has been serving as president of the Konkani Bhas Ani Sanskrithi Prathishtan, World Konkani Centre, Mangaluru, since 2021. Through the World Konkani Centre, he has been instrumental in supporting more than 1,700 videos on the Vishwa Konkani YouTube channel, producing content in Konkani and leading youth empowerment initiatives such as the ‘Vidyakalpaka’ scholarship support programme and the soft-skills development programme ‘Khitij’.
The All India Konkani Parishad, the apex body working for the cause of the Konkani language across the country, has expressed confidence that the movement for Konkani will gain further momentum under Shenoy’s leadership.
The 34th All India Konkani Convention will be held in Pune on November 14 and 15, bringing together members of the Konkani community and those working for the promotion of the language, culture and community.
